Matt Rowe
Business Manager & Coach
At the age of 9, Matt was given a bike for Christmas, which was the start of his love for cycling. Racing as a kid alongside brother, Luke – cycling became a major part of Matt’s childhood.
At the age of 16, Matt was selected for the British Cycling Olympic Development Programme (ODP), where he represented Great Britain all round the world, including the World Junior Road and Track Championships.
Matt’s best achievement in cycling was becoming European Scratch Race Champion as a junior in 2005, at the outdoor velodrome in Fiorenzuola, Italy.
After failing to make selection for the Great Britain Academy (U23) programme, due to illness (Glandular Fever), Matt turned his focus to education, where he went to Cardiff University to study Business Studies – a passion of his, whilst also qualifying as a British Cycling Coach.
Matt spent 8 years in the corporate world (Insurance and Banking), before founding Rowe & King, which launched
12th May 2015.
Matt still races locally in South Wales, and spends a lot of time training virtually on Zwift, being a huge advocate of indoor training.
